Mrs. Sherri Stuber
The Gardener
There's someone I know like an angel
Early in the dawn in our garden.
She used to work in a comfortable place,
That had a roof for good shade.
She worked indoors with pleasant air,
Sat on a comfortable chair
As an accountant.
After God called her husband,
In his middle age to eternal peace,
She became a gardener,
Listens to earthen breath,
Plows the soil and plants the seeds.
Then new life sprouts and hope proceeds.
She plants beets, zucchini, okra,
Tomatoes, sweet potatoes, green-beans,
Cucumbers, asparagus, and carrots.
And she doesn't forget the dessert,
Juicy cantaloupes, watermelons and strawberries.
She has a green thumb to cultivate,
Despite many enemies the pests and the weeds.
A happy day-her basket full of goodies,
Fresh vegetables healthy and tasty,
Enjoyable meals for the community much appreciated.
She also tends the flowers beds that
Graciously burgeon in the morning sunrise,
Shading colors white, yellow, orange, and red
In front of our Lady of Grace,
and for Jesus' Sacred Heart.
God gazes with a beautiful smile
So delighted and appreciated.
As a gardener she responds to God’s love
Close to nature where He exists.
