1. WATERFALL
he air scorches, thick with heat and humidity.
I stand beneath a roaring waterfall —
A relentless torrent that never ceases,
The unending, fierce water of God’s presence.
We are parched souls, cracked and desperate,
Hearts enslaved by shame, anger, fear, envy, pride.
Hooked on idols, ensnared by addiction,
Dragging the weight of every human struggle.
The cascade crashes over me,
Shattering dryness, burning despair,
Sweeping away the dust of sin,
Scouring the hollows of the spirit,
Purifying, cleansing, igniting new life.
Oh, Jesus, my Savior,
Let me dwell in Your unyielding love,
Immersed in this torrent,
Alive in the wild, eternal flood of Your grace.
2. A SPECIAL BOND
Cradling a smooth, cool marble in my hand,
I stride along white sand, vast and trembling beneath the sun.
Before me, a beach stretches endless,
Teal waters roaring, glinting like shards of heaven.
The sun pours fire upon the ocean,
Illuminating every wave,
Every shimmer a pulse of God’s presence.
It feels like a long-distance friend,
Patient, relentless, ever near,
A presence that shakes the heart,
Quiet but unstoppable.
Above and beyond,
A bond surges unseen —
Between humanity and Earth,
Between soul and the divine,
A sacred thread that hums,
That trembles,
That sets the spirit alight.
In this pulse, this trembling tide,
I feel the hand of God in mine —
A bond unbroken, unyielding, eternal.
3. MORNING PROVOKING
At dawn, I step into the world,
Cool air bites, sharp and alive,
The sun spills gold across my hair,
A blazing promise lighting the earth.
A pair of geese stalk the meadow,
Their soft calls weaving ancient songs of life.
A bluebird arcs through the sky,
Singing flames into the morning air.
I lift my eyes, and the clouds tremble white,
Vast, weightless, and commanding,
Stirring memories,
Relentless as time slipping through my fingers,
Youth and fear mingling in their drift.
I turn to the mountain —
Thought I sought Him,
Yet God, the Beloved, sought me first.
He waits, patient and unyielding,
A presence blazing through quiet and storm,
Gently igniting the soul with fire,
Faithful, eternal, untamed.
4. ETERNAL SPRING
The Lord is an eternal Spring —
A roaring, relentless torrent,
Shattering the stillness of the earth,
Sweeping mountains and valleys in His mercy.
Inflorescences shiver and blaze,
Petals igniting with the fire of His glory,
A fierce, trembling beauty
No eye can contain.
The Lord is an eternal Spring —
Raging rivers of revelation,
Pouring through the marrow of the soul,
Drenching spirit and flesh with His power.
The Lord is an eternal Spring —
A vast, uncharted ocean of compassion,
Surging, tumbling, devouring fear,
Flooding despair with relentless hope.
Here, awe becomes prayer,
Gratitude erupts like flames,
Trembling bows to glory,
And the soul dances in the wildfire of His presence.

5. THE ZEAL OF CARMELITE
O prophet, holy Elijah,
Carmelite father, blazing with fire,
You cast your life into the desert,
A hermit consumed by holy desire.
A flame of longing, fierce and bright,
Seeking union with the Lord of Hosts,
You taught us the sacred Word,
To meditate, no matter the cost.
Day and night, our candle alight,
Drawing our souls close to the tabernacle,
Our hearts, a garden, trembling and bright,
Where weeds and pests lurk, deadly and subtle.
Temptation prowls like a ravening lion,
Its teeth bared to devour the unguarded heart.
Teach us fervent prayer, relentless devotion,
So we never from Your presence depart.
May meditation pour like a waterfall,
Raging, uncontainable, surging truth,
Through sunshine, storm, and shadowed squall,
Igniting courage and burning youth.
Keep our lamps blazing, unyielding, aflame,
Persevere in zeal, as Elijah did,
Strike our souls with holy fire, O Name,
And make us steadfast, fearless, and rid.
